Spiritual Sumo Wrestler
Second week of Provo MTC completed.
My gospel knowledge has grown so much since the start of this week. I have a better understanding of how pieces fit into life's puzzle.
Sunday:
Today was spiritually packed. My companion Elder McKee and I said we were "spiritually obese". I love Jesus Christ and I was struggling a little bit on how He fit into the Plan. Oh how little I I understood this Church and the gospel of Jesus Christ. He literally has everything to do with anything in our lives.
I'm thankful for my family and the opportunity to live with my family in eternity.
Monday:
Today was a rough day. I learned about how essential members are to whoever you are teaching. Some of you may know I'm critical with myself even though I might do good so that's been a struggle this week.
I'm so grateful for Jesus Christ's Atonement and the ability to be forgiven of the mistakes I make every day.
Tuesday:
Had another good lesson about a verse in the Book of Mormon. Had President Susan Porter (leader in the church) come and speak. Really powerful moments today. Participated in choir and sang Glory to God. Grateful for the sacrifice of my Savior. Saw a RM (returned missionary) from my home ward. Shout out to Isaac Buckwalter for being an amazing example.
I'm so grateful for the gift of uplifting music.
Wednesday:
Today was another roller coaster of emotions... critical on myself. Went to Payson temple and did endowment. Trying to be more self-compassionate, God is guiding me to the person HE wants me to become (apply that to yourself).
I'm so grateful we have a loving Heavenly Father (God).
Thursday:
Happy Thanksgiving! Participated in choir again for Elder Quentin L. Cook (one of the higher church leaders). Watched Fighting Preacher. Amazing movie. Then we prepped 250,000 bags of instant oatmeal (500,000 in total). It was a blast doing service with my fellow servants. Then we had a music devotional (spiritual gathering) with Jon Schmidt from Piano Guys (really famous person in the Church).
I'm grateful for the guidance our Church leaders bring from God and the opportunity to serve.
Friday:
This week passed by fast. Went to Payson temple again for sealings (special act). Pranked two of my teachers with cracked screens.
I'm so grateful for my district.
Saturday (P-day = relaxed day):
Had one of few remaining classes until I go out into the field. Did two HOAs today (practice teaching), they both felt like they were good, first one was probably slightly better. Went to MTC field and played some soccer and later went to gym and played four square.
My testimony of the Book of Mormon has grown so much over the past week. It truly has the answers to life's most asked questions. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God and he did translate the Book of Mormon through the gift and power of God. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Once again, don't be afraid to reach out to logan.stockett@missionary.org
My district at the Payson temple. My roommates. Post-service picture. Sick picture. Bus ride on the way to the temple. Cracked screen with our teacher.
